The European Festival Awards takes place on Wednesday, January 11, and will open Eurosonic Noorderslag in style!

Be the first to find out who’s won categories such as Best Major Festival, Promoter of the Year, Best Indoor Festival, Headliner of the Year and more at the special awards ceremony at De Oosterpoort in Groningen.

Featuring a drinks reception, buffet dinner, live acts and an aftershow party, it is also a great opportunity for the industry to come together under one roof to celebrate the achievements of the past 12 months, make new connections, and catch-up with established ones.

Tickets are €75 for Eurosonic Noorderslag delegates (€85 on the door) – a saving of 25% on the full cost!

Please note: Registration for Eurosonic Noorderslag does not automatically entitle you to access to the European Festival Awards. There is limited space at De Oosterpoort, so tickets need to be bought in addition to your Eurosonic pass.

Who will perform at the Awards?
Guests at the European Festival Awards will be treated to performances from the hotly-tipped James Vincent McMorrow, Selah Sue and Dog Is Dead.

James Vincent McMorrow released his debut record, Early in the Morning, in Ireland to widespread critical acclaim in February 2010 and has been described by Q magazine as having song which “sound both fresh and as if they’ve been in your head forever”. Shortlisted for Newcomer of the Year at the UK Festival Awards 2011, he is sure to be a major hit at festivals across Europe in 2012.

Belgian Selah Sue creates soul, funk and reggae melodies and has duetted with Cee‐Lo Green for the song “Please”, which also appeared on on his own album, as well as supporting Prince in Belgium

Shortlisted for the European Festival Awards, Selah Sue belongs to the new generation for whom music has no boundaries, such as Like Janelle Monae, M.I.A. or Aloe Blacc.

The UK’s Dog Is Dead are a five-piece indie pop band from Nottingham, who have described their music as “an original blend of harmonious, indie-pop in the disco, with a cheeky jazz hint” and “uplifting pop for jazz junkies and choir folk”.

They have performed this year at several UK festivals including Bestival, Latitude Festival, Leeds Festival, Reading Festival, Isle of Wight Festival and were on hit British TV series Skins.

What else do I get for my ticket price?

Ticketholders will also receive an exclusive copy of the European Festival Market Report 2011 – the largest survey of European festival-goers ever undertaken.
It includes pan-European consumer opinions on:

This report will be made available for purchase after the event, but this is the only way to get your copy first, and for free!
